A successful webmasters know that there are 4 key components to every websites success in the online traffic world. First, the website needs fresh keyword rich content, this is perhaps the most important step of every campaign. Fresh content tells the search engines the website is an expert on the subject and the website will be credited positive score points for higher search engine ranking.

Second, the website needs quality keyword hyperlinked backlinks. A backlink is a link from another website that links back to your website. This tells search engines your website is important because other people are linking to you. Not only that, backlinks have a tremendous impact on your search engine ranking and for which keywords your website will show up in on engines. Google, Yahoo and Bing all use slightly different search engine point systems but each one seems to show similar results. If you want to make your website show up when searched for on search engines for certain keywords, you have to use the keyword you’re targeting in the backlink. For example, if targeting keywords "Dog Treats" you would use the term ‘Dog Treats’ as the link so when they clicked on it, they were taken to your site. Each keyword based backlink you post will tell the search engine you are more of an authority on the subject and therefore deserve higher search engine ranking.

Third, the website has to be configured properly to target the keywords on the search engines. The main rule to remember is the keywords your website it targeting have to be placed in the Title of the website and the Description. This needs to be done in order for search engines to easily find your place on the search engines. The faster you show up on search engines, the more traffic and the more potential sales. Meta Tags are also important in telling search engines what you are targeting. Choose no more than 5 keywords to target for each website. Some people believe search engines have stopped looking at Meta tags but this is not true. The more information you can tell the search engine about your website and your potential search engine placement the better.

The fourth component is press release/ article writing to promote your website around the web. The most common article outlets offer free article submission but there can be some challenges when trying to promote your own website. Find submission services that allow you to write an article and post links that direct traffic back to your site. Article writing and press release writing is one of the most important advertising outlets for any website. Each article link also counts as a backlink so remember to use the correct keywords when linking the backlink.
